# Removing creators (/docs/brands/creators/removing-creators)

Archive a creator, restore them, or delete them permanently — and why creators who've been paid can never be permanently deleted.

Removing a creator is a two-step process, like a trash bin:

1. **Delete** archives the creator. It's reversible.
2. **Delete permanently** erases an archived creator. It isn't reversible, and it's blocked for anyone who has been paid.

If you only want a creator to stop being synced for a while, **Pause** them instead. See [Statuses](/docs/brands/creators/managing-your-roster#statuses).

## Archive a creator [#archive-a-creator]

Do either of these:

- On **Creators**, tick one or more creators and click **Delete** in the selection bar (it shows the count, for example **Delete 3**), then confirm with **Remove**.
- On a creator's profile, click the trash icon in **Program Status** and confirm.

An archived creator's status becomes **Deleted**. They're hidden from the roster, leaderboards and payout cycles and can't be paid. Their videos, payouts and history are kept.

<Callout title="Admins who are also creators">

  Removing a member who has both admin access and a creator profile from{' '}
  <UiPath>Settings › Team</UiPath> takes away their admin access and archives
  their creator profile. See [Team &
  access](/docs/brands/settings/team-and-access).

## Restore an archived creator [#restore-an-archived-creator]

<Steps>
<Step>

### Find them [#find-them]

On **Creators**, click **View archived** under the table title (it shows how many are archived), or set the status filter to **Deleted**.

</Step>
<Step>

### Revive them [#revive-them]

Open the creator and click **Revive Creator**. They come back as **Active**, with their history intact.

</Step>
</Steps>

Adding an archived creator again with **Add creators** (same email) also restores their old profile.

## Delete a creator permanently [#delete-a-creator-permanently]

<Callout type="error" title="This can't be undone">

  Permanently deleting a creator destroys their videos, sets and snapshots,
  engagement records, bounty claims, game entries, group memberships, posting
  violations, support tickets and notifications. Their brand membership is
  removed too, so they leave the members list. There's no second trash bin.

</Callout>

<Steps>
<Step>

### Open the archived view [#open-the-archived-view]

On **Creators**, click **View archived** (or filter by **Deleted**).

</Step>
<Step>

### Select and delete [#select-and-delete]

Tick the creators and click **Delete permanently** in the selection bar (shown with the count, for example **Delete 2 permanently**).

</Step>
<Step>

### Confirm [#confirm]

Type `DELETE` in the confirmation box and click the **Delete permanently** button.

</Step>
</Steps>

If a selected creator can't be deleted, they stay selected and Bloss tells you why. The others are still deleted.

### Who can't be permanently deleted [#who-cant-be-permanently-deleted]

- **Creators who aren't archived yet.** Archive them first.
- **Creators with payment history** — any paid payout, paid referral bonus, or decided instant base pay request. Their archived profile is what keeps that payment history attached to a name, so it stays. The dialog names exactly what's blocking.

If the person also has admin access, permanently deleting their creator profile leaves their admin access in place.
