Billing & account states

Pause and resume a managed account, how long a pause can last, skip post checks, and every account status and banner.

BetaCreators

Each account's Billing tab shows its plan, posts and balance (see Plan, posts & balance). Under Account controls you'll find Skip post checks, and Pause account or Resume.

Brand accounts

If a brand assigned you its managed account, you can post to it, but only a full brand admin can change its plan, pause or resume it, or buy add-ons.

Skip post checks

Your posts are checked after they go live. Off (the default), you get 48 hours to check each one. See Check a live post. Turn on Skip post checks and each post counts as approved as soon as it's live, so you can't ask for changes on it. It doesn't cover the account itself: you still check that when it's delivered. See Reviewing delivery.

Pause an account

Pausing is how you stop paying for an account. Once the account is live, click Pause account and choose when:

ChoiceWhat happens
At the end of the paid period (the default)The account keeps running until its Paid until date, then pauses.
NowPosting stops straight away.

Either way:

  • You won't be charged again.
  • Nothing is deleted. The account, its posts, its balance and its history are kept.
  • While it's paused, posts don't go out and the free rebuild doesn't apply. Posts scheduled after the pause date get new dates when you resume.
  • A pause has a limit. See How long a pause can last.

Bloss emails you when you set a pause and when the account pauses.

If you pause now after your plan was already charged for the next period, that period is still yours: Paid until already shows its end, and resuming before then is free.

Change your mind

While a pause is set for the end of the paid period, the account shows the date it pauses. To carry on, click Keep it running, or save a plan with Change plan. You can do this right up until the account pauses. If its charge date has already passed, the plan renews within the hour. Once it's paused, you can resume it instead.

Resume an account

A paused account says why: Paused by you., Paused at the end of its paid period., or, for an account paused before monthly plans, Paused because its upkeep was not covered.

Click Resume

Choose the plan to come back on

It starts on the plan change you saved, if there is one, or else the account's current plan. Pick Upkeep only, or posts in steps of 5.

Check the price and confirm

The dialog shows what you pay today and your next charge date. Click Resume.

What resuming costs depends on when you do it:

When you resumeWhat you pay
Before Paid until, with the plan's next charge still aheadNothing. The plan carries on with its own dates.
Before Paid until, after the plan's charge date passedNothing for the pause. The plan's renewal that fell due is charged now, as usual.
After Paid untilUpkeep for the time it was paused, plus one plan period that starts that day.
  • On a free resume, a different plan you pick starts at the next charge.
  • Resuming is charged like the plan, to your card: never from the balance or from posts. With no card saved, the dialog offers Add a card; add one, then click Resume again.
  • If the price changes before you confirm, you see the new price and nothing is charged until you resume again.
  • Your card is charged first. If the account then can't be resumed, the payment is refunded to your card and the account stays paused.

Bloss emails you when the account is running again.

How long a pause can last

A paused account can be resumed until its Resume by date: 28 days after its Paid until date. Bloss emails you 7 days and 1 day before it.

If the account is still paused on that date, it closes for good: its handle, followers and posts on the platform are gone, and it can't be resumed or rebuilt. Nothing more is charged. Your unused posts and balance stay yours, so you can move them to another of your accounts.

Closing can't be undone

Resume the account before its Resume by date to keep it.

If a payment doesn't go through

If a payment for the plan doesn't go through, the account pauses straight away and shows Paused, with Paused because a payment didn't go through. on its Billing tab. Nothing is deleted, and Bloss emails you.

Update your card

On the account's Billing tab, click Update card in the Paused · a payment didn't go through banner. Stripe's customer portal opens; change the card there and come back.

A brand account is paid with the agency's card, so only the agency owner can update it. Other brand admins see the banner without Update card, and ask the agency owner to update the card first.

Resume the account

Click Resume. The same prices and the same Resume by date apply.

If your bank asks you to confirm a plan payment (3D Secure), that isn't a failure: the account shows Confirm your payment, and Bloss emails you a link. Confirm it before the account's Paid until date, or the account pauses as if the payment didn't go through.

If there's no card yet

A plan with no card saved shows Add a card by a date on its Billing tab, and Bloss emails you before that date. Click Add card: Stripe's page saves one, and nothing is charged until the plan's next charge. If there's still no card on that date, the account pauses. Nothing is deleted, and you can resume it once a card is saved.

If the platform suspends your account

Posting stops while the platform reviews it, and posts that hadn't gone out go back to the account. You get one free rebuild per account: a new account in the same market, with the same warmup, under a new handle. Bloss doesn't start a replacement while a platform review is still open, because a second account during a review can make the outcome worse.

The new account keeps your plan, and your unused posts and balance move to it. Its plan charges again once it's live.

A ban caused by content that breaks the content rules, or by breaking the platform's terms, isn't covered. The free rebuild doesn't apply while an account is paused.

Banners

When something needs you, the account shows a banner at the top, for example:

  • Waiting for your check: a post or the account needs your check before the deadline. Click Check now.
  • A post needs a new file: a file couldn't be opened. Click Fix it.
  • Warming is running: your first posts go out once warmup finishes.
  • Pauses on a date: a pause is set for the end of the paid period. Click Keep it running to carry on.
  • Paused · Resume by a date: the account is paused. Click Resume.
  • Paused · a payment didn't go through: a plan payment failed. Click Update card, then Resume.
  • Confirm your payment: your bank asked you to confirm the plan payment. Click Open invoice.
  • Add a card by a date: the plan has no card to charge. Click Add card.
  • This account is on hold, … is reviewing this account, … has suspended this account, We are rebuilding this account, or This account is closed: see the statuses above. An account that stayed paused past its resume date shows This account is closed with the date it closed.
