How you get paid

How brands pay you on Bloss, covering sets, base pay, bonuses, trials and payout cycles, and what each payout status means.

Creators

Every brand sets its own pay rules, but they all work the same way. Bloss groups your posts into sets, checks each set against the brand's rules, and adds up what you've earned for each payout cycle. This page explains how that works. To see the exact rules for a brand, open Cycle rules in My Videos.

Sets

A set is one video posted to up to four platforms: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook, with at most one post per platform. The brand pays you per set, not per post. Posting the same video on more platforms doesn't create more sets, but it can help the set qualify and earn more views. (In the Bloss API a set is called a pair.)

Bloss builds your sets automatically after each sync. Posts are matched into the same set when they:

  • went up around the same time (post the same video to each platform on the same day), and
  • are the same length or look the same.

A post with no match becomes a set on its own. Only videos from the current cycle, or the previous cycle if it hasn't been paid yet, are grouped this way.

Sets look wrong?

If two posts that are the same video ended up in different sets, you can fix it yourself in Paired View. See My videos & payouts.

Base pay

Base pay is a fixed amount for each set that qualifies. A set qualifies when it meets both of the brand's rules:

RuleWhat the brand can choose
PlatformsThe set must have a post on every platform you've connected (shown as ALL platforms), or on any one of them (ANY platform).
Minimum viewsEvery post must reach the minimum (every post), at least one post must (any one post), or the set's views added together must (cumulative). Some brands have no minimum.

Some brands pay a separate base rate for each platform instead of one rate per set. Then each platform's post earns its own rate when it reaches the minimum.

If a set doesn't qualify yet, it can still qualify later in the cycle as its views grow.

Bonus pay

A bonus is extra pay for views, on top of base pay. A set only earns a bonus if its base pay qualifies.

Brands use one of two bonus types:

  • Tiers: reach a view count, earn a set amount, for example 10,000 views earns $5. You get the highest tier reached; tiers don't add up. Usually it's your set's best post that counts, but some brands count the set's total views (Pair total).
  • Per 1,000 views (CPM): you earn a rate for every 1,000 views, sometimes up to a maximum per set.

A brand can give you your own bonus deal, or set a custom rate for a single set. When it does, Cycle rules says so, and the set shows a Custom rate chip.

Payout cycles

A payout cycle is the date range the brand pays you for, often two weeks. Your videos are grouped by the cycle they were posted in. When the brand creates a cycle, it locks that cycle's rules (Locked snapshot in Cycle rules), so later rule changes don't change what you earn for it.

During a cycle, your pay updates as your views grow. When the cycle ends, the brand reviews it and sends your payout.

Some brands pay base pay early: as soon as a set qualifies, the base pay is queued for the brand to approve and send, without waiting for the cycle to end. Bonuses still come with the cycle payout, or set by set.

Ledger brands

Some brands use a ledger model instead of fixed cycles. Bloss keeps a running total of what you've earned and pays the difference each time the brand settles up. On those brands, My Payouts shows Ledger Pending and Ledger Settled totals. See ledger payout model.

Trials

Some brands start new creators on a trial. You're synced and paid as normal during the trial. To pass, you post a set number of videos that each reach a view target within the trial period.

The Trial Progress card on your portal dashboard shows Qualifying Videos, Days Left and your progress, with the exact goal, for example Upload 1 video each reaching 10,000 views within 14 days to pass. When you pass, you become Active at the next sync.

What can stop a set from paying

  • It doesn't qualify: a platform is missing, or views are under the minimum.
  • It's marked irrelevant: the brand excluded the video, for example because it's off-brief. Irrelevant videos don't count toward pay. You'll see Marked Irrelevant on the video.
  • Base pay is withheld: some brands only release base pay once you've connected a payout account or the social accounts they require. The set shows Withheld with what to do, for example Connect a Whop account to unlock base pay.
  • You were removed from the brand. Paused creators are still paid what they earned before the pause.

A Link dead badge doesn't change your pay. Views counted before the post went down still count.

Payout statuses

On My Payouts, each cycle shows a status:

StatusWhat it means
PendingNot paid yet.
Partly paidPart of your bonus was already sent; the rest is still to come.
Bonus paidYour bonus went out already and nothing is left to send for this cycle.
PaidThe brand has paid this cycle.

The table also has a Paid early column for base pay sent before the cycle ended.

On each set in My Videos you'll also see a base pay badge:

BadgeWhat it means
Auto base paidBase pay was sent mid-cycle and you can already withdraw it.
Base pay in reviewQueued for base pay, waiting for the brand to approve the transfer.
Base owedEarned, but not sent or queued yet.
Base paid with payoutIncluded in the cycle payout.
Base marked paidThe brand marked it paid outside Bloss.
WithheldOn hold until you connect what the brand requires.
No base dueThe set hasn't met the brand's rules yet.

Bonus badges show +$X while the bonus is earned but unpaid, and Bonus paid (or Bonus marked paid) once it's out.
