Pairing videos

Fix sets by hand on a creator's Videos tab — create a set from selected posts, add or drag posts between sets, unpair, and re-run automatic pairing.

Brand admins

Bloss groups posts into sets automatically, but it can't always tell that two posts are the same content — for example, when a creator trims one version or posts it two days later. Fix those by hand on the creator's Videos tab.

Read How sets work first if you're new to sets. On this tab, sets are called pairs.

Find the Videos tab

Open Creators, click the creator, and choose the Videos tab. Videos are grouped by payout cycle. Unpaired posts that fall in no cycle sit under No Cycle.

Each cycle shows its status, when its pay was Last calculated, which day's views it used (Stats as of), and totals for Videos, Pairs, Base, Bonus and Total Payout.

Use the toolbar to filter by Cycle (All cycles, Current or a specific cycle) and Sort — for example Newest date, Highest views, Highest base payout or Custom pay first.

Create a set from selected posts

Turn on pairing mode

On the cycle you want, click Manual Pair. A banner confirms Pairing Mode for that cycle.

Select the posts

Click the unpaired posts that belong together. You can pick at most one post per platform — to swap, deselect the one you have first.

Create the set

Click Create New Pair in the selection bar. Bloss creates the set in that cycle and prices it right away.

To add posts to a set that already exists instead, select them in pairing mode and click Add selected on that set. Click Exit Pairing (or Cancel Pairing) when you're done.

All posts in a set must belong to the same creator, and a post can only be in one set.

Drag and drop

Next to Manual Pair you'll see or drag to pair. Grab a post by its handle and:

  • drop it on another set to add it, or move it from its current set,
  • drop it on another unpaired post to pair these videos,
  • drop it on the bar at the bottom of the screen to take it out of its set.

Take sets apart

  • Unpair on a set splits it back into separate posts.
  • The remove button on a single post (Remove this video from the pair) takes only that post out.
  • Unpair all on a cycle splits every set in that cycle.

Unpaired posts are grouped again by the next automatic pairing, unless you pair them by hand first.

Custom pay is lost when a set is taken apart

If a set has custom pay, unpairing it deletes that custom amount permanently. Bloss names the amount and asks you to confirm first.

Sets you can't change

Once money has moved, a set is a payment record. You can't unpair it, move its posts, delete its posts or mark them irrelevant when:

  • its cycle has been paid,
  • its base pay was already sent,
  • its bonus was already paid, or a bonus payment is in progress, or
  • it has other settled payouts.

Bloss says which of these applies. Manual Pair, Unpair all and Regenerate Payout don't appear on paid cycles, and Unpair all is disabled when any set in the cycle is protected. To stop paying for such a set without changing it, use Mark unpaid. See Custom pay and unpaid sets.

Re-run pricing and pairing

  • Regenerate Payout on a cycle recalculates the pay of every set in it. Use it when a set shows a stale amount — one that no longer matches the rules.
  • Auto-Pair All Videos on Payouts & Cycles groups every unpaired post across all unpaid cycles. See Syncing.
